I usually stay away from posts like this, but it's quite a mystery and I am intrigued. For those of you who are unaware, Maclaren USA filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Connecticut on December 29, 2011. Greg at Daddytypes has all the details in this post, and a follow up here. Chapter 7 is not an attempt to reorganize. It means the company is done and closing, which is exactly what Maclaren USA has done. But this is where it gets weird.
A new company called Maclaren N.A. has now taken over handling Maclaren's business here, and they are owned by Maclaren Europe, LTD. Maclaren N.A. has been posting job offering on monster.com recently, the last one only a day ago. About 9 jobs were posted in the past three weeks. So obviously Maclaren is still around in the USA and still operating out of Norfolk, CT.
So far no statement from Maclaren has been issued, but I'll keep looking for it.
