Princess cookies make anything feel fancier. And it made our Sunday "dinner feast", at my mom's house feel extra fun!
It's little thing in life that make memories....things like homemade cookies, shaped like high heels or castles, make a fun memory. And sure, baking cookies with your kids, may not be the most time efficient way to bake cookies, but the fun, love and learning that takes place is worth it taking 5-8 times longer! ha ha ha
I don't have my mom's sugar cookie recipe, that's she's used for years, with me- maybe I can get it from her and post it later, but I can tell you how to make this yummy Princess Cookie Frosting!
WHAT YOU NEED TO OPEN YOUR PRINCESS BAKERY:
Your favorite Sugar Cookie RecipeCookie Cutter-
Wilton "princess cookie" cutters ( these came from Walmart- a crown, high heel or glass slipper and ofcourse a castle, you can probably get them anywhere they sell Wilton cake and cookie stuff!)
Optional- White sugar sprinkles
LAVENDER VANILLA ICING RECIPE:
(we use the organic everything, cause that's how we roll) 2 Tablespoons REAL BUTTER (not margarine)
2 Tablespoons Whole Milk (we use the organic, cause that's how we roll, or drink)
2 Cups Powdered Sugar
Dash of real vanilla extract (no imitation vanilla, real vanilla extract- the imitation tastes gross)
Drop of Wilton's lavender food coloring
(add more powdered sugar or more milk to get desired consistency- should spread on cookie easily without dripping or being too runny)
PINK AS A PRINCESS STRAWBERRY ICING:
same as above, except instead of Vanilla ExtractDash of Wilton Strawberry Food Flavoring
Drop of Wilton's Rose Food Coloring
*The table was decorated with:
my jar of "plastic diamonds" (I got at Michael's), sprinkled everywhere...
*Glass "fancy glasses" to drink our water from (they are just wine glasses from the dollar store, but the kids think they are so fun to drink from)
*These cute flower ball candle holders (from Michael's too), and a safety candle, which is fake but flickers like it real- can you say: "fan-say"!
Love is always in the details. It's the little things that show your love sometimes...like having dinner with "fancy glasses", or things like making princess cookies. Which by the way, Blakey loved...he was our royal prince, who had his fake sword ready to "bee-tect" us. Even Jordan had fun and loved the cookies!
Have fun pouring some love into some little details today-
How can you jazz up your dinner table to have more fun? Dollar Store "fancy" Glasses?!?
A fun table decoration.
Listen to fun music while you cook and eat dinner.
Have fun today and have even more fun doing fun things to make more memorable moments in life, your kandee
